HRS for the General Services Department at James City County
I started my career as a Human Resource Coordinator intern in Kingston, Jamaica. From there, I migrated to the US to complete a BSc in Psychology & Human Services where I also worked as a Human Resource Assistant at the college I was attending at the time. I transitioned into healthcare working as a Patient Access Specialist and Patient Access Supervisor while working on my Masters in Human Resource Management. Upon completion of my degree, I returned to the HR field as a HR Specialist in the public schools setting. I also worked as a Senior recruiter recruiting for K-12 schools and universities for their food and facilities management department. In addition to this, I acted as a HR Generalist for a start-up company laying the foundation for their HR department. I re-entered the healthcare field acting as a scheduling manager where I oversaw the schedules of a number of healthcare worker while also overseeing their talent acquisition and retention functions. In May of 2024 I was fortunate enough to land a position as a HR Specialist at James City County for their General Services department.
